Rookies Raiders were led to their 2.08 point victory by a 28.70 point effort from Fred Jackson, who tore apart the Indianapolis Colts defense for 212 rushing yards in addition to 15 receiving yards. With this performance, Jackson was the number 5 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 17. They also got help from a 28.50 point effort from Ben Roethlisberger, who got by the Miami Dolphins defense for 220 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 17 rushing yards.
"This team shows a lot of character," Rookies Raiders coach Mike Swanson said.
Viking 1 were helped out in a losing cause by a 38.20 point effort from Jamaal Charles, who tore apart the Denver Broncos defense for 259 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 3 receiving yards. With this performance, Charles was the number 1 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 17. They also got help from a 16.00 point effort from Robbie Gould, who snuck past the Detroit Lions defense for 3 field goals made and 4 extra points.
"They out-hustled us," Viking 1 coach Mark J. Roth said.
Causing further embarrassment, Viking 1 could have scored 114.22 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Mark J. Roth left key players like Percy Harvin and his corresponding 8.10 points on the bench.
Viking 1 drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 18 out of 22 other potential opponents in week 17. This brings the record for Rookies Raiders to 6-8, and drops Viking 1 to a record of 6-8.
